We truly had fun! Christina gave us some great tips and ideas on how to decorate our flip flops. Then the ladies just got creative. I didn't know there was that much creativity in some of you!! You are great!!! ....and that foot treatment - wow! That was wonderful! Those few minutes of relaxing and soaking could have gone on forever as far as I'm concerned. Oh, how I love to relax and be pampered!!!

Of course, the food just topped it all off. Strawberries, bananas, pretzel rods, .....and chocolate. Top it off with some salty chips!! It was all good. I have to confess, I threw a few of those candy bars in my purse when I was cleaning up. Well, you know how hot it is - and yes, I left my purse in the car. You know what I was cleaning out of my purse the next day!!! That's what I get!

Hope all of you enjoyed it too. If you missed it, watch for the next event. They're always fun!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-36203248168953267482010-05-29T10:30:00.004-05:002010-05-29T10:47:48.422-05:00FRIENDS, FLIP FLOPS, AND CHOCOLATE COMING UP

Hey, girls! I know I haven't been very good about posting. Sorry. The past few months have been a bit rough. I should have dealt with this a long time ago!!...Of course that wonderful 2 and a half weeks of flu didn't help. What a double wammy! - but I am feeling and doing so much better. Thank you for your prayers and concern.

While I was parked on the couch not able to do much, my mind was still rolling. I really wanted to do this for Mother's Day, but it just couldn't happen. So, we will move on.

June 12 is the day - Friends, Flip Flops, and Chocolate. It's going to be a fun morning. Everyone gets a free pair of flip flops to "design." Christina is going to show us ways to decorate and design some really cute flip flops. Kristi Robertson is going to bring her new foot care/pampering products. I've heard it's all the rage! She's going to show us how to get summer feet. We're going to talk about how God knows how to flip a flop..... and eat chocolate while we're doing all this. It's really going to be fun. At the end, we will have a drawing for a free pedicure from Leah. I've heard she is REALLY good at these!!!

I need everyone to sign up at the Information Center. We will need your flip flop size by June 6th. Feel free to invite friends and family members. The more the merrier!!!

I love you girls. I just finished my study in Esther this morning for the discussion group tonight. It was SOOOO good! Although I, like the rest of the girls, have had a hard time finding/making time to keep up with this study, when we do get to it, we always get so much out of it.

This week's focus was on mean people. How can that be good, you ask!!! Well, we all know there are mean people out there - people who just don't care who they hurt. Some even seem to get a thrill out of hurting people - and you have been one of their victims. I don't know about you, but that is one of the hardest pills for me to swallow!!

In our study, Haman was that mean person. It was all about him (Do you know anyone like that?). What great lengths he went to in order to get at that person he didn't like! People like this are so hard to understand - especially when they come against you for no apparent reason or maybe because of a misunderstanding or mistake. They are so unforgiving! I have been in this seat more times than I want to count and it is one of the hardest places for me to be. I can hardly stand it. No one wants to think they've hurt someone or upset someone - especially to the point that the person will not forgive and even retaliates. How many times have we said, "Don't they know me - my heart? They know I would never do that or have been that way on purpose?" There's just nothing you can say or do to make it better.

But..... the Word tells us who is in charge. Nothing gets by our God.

This study also brings to light that we not only don't like being the victim of someone like this - we MUST be careful not to be the one inflicting the meanness. One comment is "Meanness is contagious like a virus." We can get caught up in it ourselves - either to vindicate ourselves or a family member/friend. The study ends with this comment:

Surely as Christians we must recognize the spirit of Haman not only in our world, but within ourselves.

My prayer today is that I 1) will not let others who have this spirit bring me down, and 2) I will not have the spirit myself.

I love you girls!!! If you can, join us tonight. This is such a wonderful study. Patty Ann's @ 6:00. Remember, you are not obligated to purchase anything. It is up to you. We just want your company and insight!!!

Sister JuneSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-48521078369299867122010-03-03T21:42:00.003-06:002010-03-03T21:47:08.705-06:00WOW!What an awesome weekend. The Lord moved in such a powerful way. I hate that some of you missed it. Isn't it wonderful the way God just knows how to show up and show out. There were visitors who heard about us through facebook. That was great! We had friends from other churches as well. ....Best of all - we all KNEW God was there.

It seems as if the Lord is speaking loud and clear to the church - pray - pray fervently, pray earnestly, pray together, pray!!! What does prayer accomplish? Think about it - God spoke about the hardest things and said they are accomplished through faith, prayer and fasting. That tells me that ANYTHING can happen through prayer.

What is the 'ANYTHING' you are needing and wanting? Commit it to prayer - earnest, fervent, and corporate prayer. I believe when we do this, God WILL move our mountains and meet our needs. We will enter a whole new level with God.

I love you, girls!! You are all so special to me.

Sister JuneSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-51147259615119727922010-02-19T16:54:00.002-06:002010-02-19T17:02:04.890-06:00ONE MORE WEEKHave you been preparing for it? - "Only Believe" service. I know I have. If you received a flier, you may have noticed the area at the bottom for your requests and Scriptures. I hope you have filled it out. What are you believing for??? List it - name it - know it will come about - through faith. How do we get faith - through the Word? On the other side of the flier is a place to write Scriptures that will increase your faith.

Would you be willing to share your Scriptures of faith with us. I will be sending an e-mail to all the ladies. I will begin the chain and I am asking you to continue it. I am asking that you add a Scripture(s) that speaks faith to you and send it to all the ladies on the e-mail list. I will give directions in the e-mail. Let's encourage one another this week. I am sure you will be preparing yourself in prayer and Scripture this week as well. I am asking for 7 people to fast (your choice of fast) one day this week beginning Saturday through next Friday. If you are willing to fast, please e-mail or call me and let me know.

Don't forget to spread the word and invite other women. We're not the only ones needing a touch from the Lord. There are many who so desperately need to hear from God. Let's give them this opportunity.

I love you - you are so special to me. I don't know what I would do without my Sisterz!

Love,

Sister JuneSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-91750401825273880362010-02-08T18:33:00.002-06:002010-02-08T19:09:35.933-06:00DO YOU BELIEVE?What is your need? Physical problems? Financial distress? Family circumstances? Unsaved family members? Spiritual struggles? ..... No matter what your need is - we serve a God who is more than able to meet these needs.

"What do you mean, 'If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." Mark 9:23 NLT

I truly believe this Scripture and believe that God is wanting to move amongst us. That is why I have scheduled Only Believe women's service. It will be held February 26 @ 7:00. Sister Marie Martin will be our guest. We all know how God uses her in mighty ways. She is a gifted woman of God.

I believe the key, though, is found in the Scripture above - anything is possible if a person believes. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God (Rom 10:17). So many of us are in the Word of God - reading the Bible through. We hear the Word during classes and services. We hear the Word through music and television ministry. LET'S SATURATE OURSELVES WITH THE WORD - build our faith and prepare ourselves to receive the miracles we need.

Do you have a Scripture that will encourage and strengthen us? Share it with us. Let's strengthen one another and get ready for our miracle!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-13980835584347402462010-02-02T08:06:00.001-06:002010-02-02T08:07:33.820-06:00SELF DEFENSE TIPGot this from a "sister" today. Thought I'd share it with you girls.

If you don't have a gun, here's a more humane way to wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat. A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead. The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. S he also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use. Please share this with all the people in your lifeSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-41475109007080525342010-01-14T21:40:00.001-06:002010-01-14T21:53:27.626-06:00JUST WONDERINGJust wondering how your Bible reading is going? I have to admit, I didn't think I would like reading the Bible this way because it seemed as if I was reading 8 books at one time. Well, if you know me at all, I can't do that!!! I'm a one book at a time girl....and even then I have to go back and reread more than once in order to get it. I forget what I've already read! ... or I let my mind start wandering and don't remember what I read! I wonder if I was/am ADD???

I have been pleasantly surprised! I am actually giving more attention to the passages than I have when I read it sequentially! Focusing on only one chapter in that book has caused me to pay closer attention to the contents. I have noticed some vocabulary and facts that I never noticed before. I like this!!!

So, how is it going for you? I'd love to hear from you. Click on "comment" and let me know.Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-63455342409804844072010-01-01T11:50:00.002-06:002010-01-01T11:59:12.105-06:00IT'S OVER!Well, ladies, the holidays are over. They come and go so quickly. I hope each of you have had a blessed season. Mine entailed a nice surprise. For the first time in over 10 years, I was able to spend Christmas Day with my family. There were a lot of surprised faces! That was fun. Life goes by so quickly and we must sieze the moments while we can.

Of course, the snow wasn't fun. It was beautiful, but the driving was terrible. The 1-2 inches they predicted for over the entire weekend came in about the first few hours of the day Saturday. I was quickly reminded why I love the good, old south!! We felt so inadequate and unprepared - no snow brushes, snow boots, or snow tires!! We just had to laugh at it and let others drive us around!! Next time, if there is one, I'll be ready!

Isn't that how the enemy tries to make us feel, though - inadequate and unprepared. That's when we just have to let others "drive us around." We must rely on one another to pull us through those times. Then next time - be ready!

I want to be prepared for this next year. I am looking for many great things. God has given so many promises and I'm not about to let go of even a one. I think this new Bible reading program is wonderful! We are going to grow so much through this...and the discussion class will be such a help for all of us. Then, to add to it, the new study on Revelation. I pray it awakens us and helps us realize not only how close these events are to happening - but what we must do before they do. We have a work.

Let's all be busy about the Father's business. I pray that this year we will win more souls than in all our years combined. We don't have much time. We must seize the moment.

Wishing each of you a blessed and prosperous New Year!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-13627565380257692632009-12-21T21:55:00.003-06:002009-12-21T21:56:51.201-06:00LOOKING FOR YOU TOMORROWTomorrow night is gonna be loads of fun. It is always a highlight of our year. I have so many wonderful memories of parties throughout the years we have been here. We've had it at different places and had all kinds of "themes." We've laughed, we've shared.....it's just been so wonderful.

I expect this year's party will be another wonderful time. As always, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.....and no, I will not tell you what the shoe is for. Just choose a shoe - any shoe.

We are not having a gift exchange this year - but everyone will receive a gift! It's always nice to get to take something home with you.

Sister Tammie is hosting the party at her house this year. You should receive a flier in the mail with a map. If you're not sure how to get there, let me know. It's really very simple. You will enjoy her hospitality and the warmth of her home.

So, make us a snack, drive on over, and let's have a wonderful Sisterz time together. It's Tuesday, the 22nd, at 6:30.

Love ya, Sisterz!!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-37963722597113559692009-11-29T21:45:00.004-06:002009-11-29T22:12:16.488-06:00GOOD FELLOWSHIP

It was so much fun working together to decorate the church tonight. There's nothing like a church family. The church looks beautiful. Thank you to everyone who gave their time tonight.

I guess the season is well under way. I've been enjoying the chick flick Christmas movies!!! Poor Pastor! Living with 2 women is not easy. I've done a bit of shopping, but not very much. I've been trying to develop a list - then go do it all at once. Of course, I do that every year, but it never works. I never seem to be able to get all my (ducks) events in a row and planned out. Somehow I seem to have to do them one at a time. It keeps me running. So much for a plan!

How is your Christmas season going? I hope you're getting it all in without too much stress and strain. Some of the things we consider important, really aren't. If we can keep that in mind, we will do better.

Well, I must prepare to go back to school tomorrow. I hate that!! These 5 days off have been great - but gone fast. Good point, though, is that we only have 3 weeks until we get off for 2 more. I love holiday breaks!!!

I hope all of you have a great Monday and a wonderful week. If I haven't told you lately, I love my Sisterz!!! Have a good week!

Sister June

PS - Don't forget about the book study at Patty Ann's Tuesday @ 6:00.

Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-80209667639186715822009-11-22T08:07:00.002-06:002009-11-22T08:19:42.094-06:00FOCUSWell, it is upon us - the holiday season. The stores are bussling, the calendars are bulging, and our pocketbooks are alredy getting thinner! All of this puts our minds in a whirl sometimes. I want to encourage you, though, to focus. Focus on the meaning of these seasons. Customs, traditions, and expectations have made these days much more complicated than they probably should be.

Each year I show my class the Little House on the Prairie premier and then follow it up with their first Christmas. The children always comment on what the family doesn't have - how they were so excited to get a turkey (instead of a constant diet of rabbit), how they each only received one gift and they had to make some of them, how the tree is decorated, ... life was much simpler. But it seems to me, though, that they cherished so much about life. Those gifts were special, the turkey was a blessing, ...

This year, let's focus on the important things and the meaning behind these days and let the rest go. Let's enjoy the holidays like we haven't enjoyed them in a long time.

Happy Simple Thanksgiving! Thank you, Lord, for ALL you given and done for us. We truly are blessed and have so much to be thankful for.Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-20354069982644119002009-11-11T18:02:00.001-06:002009-11-11T18:04:25.652-06:00WHERE IS IT GOING??Time, I mean. I was working in my lesson plan book today and flipped the page to see three days marked off for Thanksgiving. It was time to send my note home about the Thanksgiving week activities!!! Where has time gone? It is hard to believe this year is almost past.

That makes me think, though, about what has been also. What have I accomplished this year? It's so easy to let time just slide by and not do anything but the normal routine. We say we don't like the same old, same old - yet we so often fall into the trap of doing it.

I got to thinking about how I want this year to end. What do I want to be able to say about this year? I've got some plans to make and things to do yet. How about you?Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-7679204012660278852009-11-06T16:35:00.002-06:002009-11-06T16:41:21.146-06:00HOW NICE!What a beautiful week we have had - so refreshing compared to the past weeks. It reminds me of how our life is sometimes. We have the rainy, dreary, cold, blah times that seem as if they'll never go away. We feel "flooded" with so many things and emotions. It simply drains us. Then comes the sun and warmth. The memory of those tough day begins to fade and we once again experience peace and serenity.

So, if you're going through those weary days - maybe it's raining on you today - don't forget that the sunshine and warmth will return. The Lord will see to it!

Blessings to all my Sisterz. I love you.

Sister JuneSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-56545205026280078332009-11-02T19:56:00.002-06:002009-11-02T20:02:48.887-06:00SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT?I'm excited about Tuesday night - especially since I didn't get to attend the last session. I heard so many wonderful comments about the last session that I just can't wait to go tomorrow night. I wish everyone would join us. We get so much from this time together and the discussions we share. This new book, Crazy Love, is so good. It is such a great reminder of how much our Lord loves us.

If you can, please try to join us @ Patty Ann's - 6:00. Remember, ordering is optional - so don't feel that you can't come because you don't want to eat. The session is about the book and fellowship - not the meal.

Looking forward to seeing my Sisterz tomorrow night!

Sister JuneSister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-2939579523452032222009-10-23T17:27:00.002-05:002009-10-23T17:36:13.057-05:00HEARING GREAT THINGS!I am hearing so many great comments about Tuesday night's book study. There were several new ladies - welcome!!!! I heard the discussion was very moving. (I couldn't be there due to school conferences! - and I was very sad!)

Thank you, Rebekah, for being such a great leader. .. and thank you, ladies, for all your support and participation. You make the group what it is!!

It's not too late to get involved. The book is Crazy Love. It's available at Wal-Mart, cbd.com, or Lifway Bookstore (Jonesboro or Jackson). We'd love to have everyone join in. The next meeting time is a week from Tuesday.Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-120422644853236542009-10-19T16:20:00.003-05:002009-10-19T16:26:03.800-05:00WHAT A POWERFUL DAYWe sure got a plateful yesterday. Both messages were so powerful. Between faith and "goodness and mercy" - we can't go wrong. If you missed it, you need to get the cd's. You know I don't usually say that - so it must be really good.

I also want to thank all of you for your love and support. It's no secret that these are not easy days for Pastor and I. I, being the emotional person I am, display my feelings right out there. That's okay, though. I won't be ashamed. We all need one another and I am so thankful that I have all of you. I love you and your families. You are my family and friends and I cherish you much. This is not the end - just a stepping stone!

I love you, girls!

Sister June

P.S. Don't forget about the study group tomorrow night - Crazy Love. Reason being - I haven't been able to get info from most of you!!! So, I will post these as people give me the information.

Our featured sister this week is a very energetic young woman. Whenever you see her, she will be bouncy and smiling! Yep, I'm talking about Rebekah Counts! Rebekah was born February 4. She has ventured from home a few times, but grew up and makes her home in Caruthersville. She is an elementary teacher (of which I am jealous because she has a higher grade and teaches my favorite subject all day long!!)

Rebekah shares her life with her family - her husband Matt, mother and father - Howard and Rose, and 3 sisters - Christina, Sarah, and Naomi.

Her relationship with the Lord began at a very early age - 6 - when she received Christ at the A/G in Caruthersville.

Her favorite Scripture is Exodus 14:14 - The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." She gives us a wonderful "sermonette" with this Scripture. "Sometimes the trials of life are beyond our control, and when they are, God will fight for us...and when they seem as though we can beat them, God still desires for us to call on Him for guidance. We'll save ourselves a lot of strife when we recognize our Defender, our Strong Tower." What truth!!

Rebekah began her driving experience at a very young age - she started at age 4. Her parents had a full-size van. She backed it down a steep hill one Sunday morning before church. In her words - "I'm sure my parents were very happy!" : )

We are so glad to count Rebekah as one of our Sisterz. We love you, Rebekah!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-68432007785862127482009-10-06T21:23:00.002-05:002009-10-06T21:27:16.061-05:00NEW BOOK STUDYWhat a wonderful evening I spent with my Sisterz. We began the new book study, "Crazy Love." Rebekah Counts is leading this study/discussion and did such a WONDERFUL job!! Of course, we really enjoy the time as we top it off with one of Randall's wonderful pies! The Word, my Sisterz, and pie - life couldn't be better! We just did the introduction, so there is plenty of time for you to jump in with us and not miss a thing. There's room for more - so come on out every other Tuesday at 6:00. Our next study will be in 2 weeks - October 20.

Thanks, Rebekah, for a good introduction and discussion!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-23816512054303539082009-10-02T17:23:00.000-05:002009-10-02T17:25:30.733-05:00GIVE THEM AWAYBe humble under God’s powerful hand so he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to Him, because He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

Perhaps you are uncertain about your future – or perhaps you are simply a “worrier” by nature. If so, it’s time to focus less on your troubles and more on God’s promises. And that’s as it should be because God is trustworthy … and you are protected.

If you are a person with lots of obligations and plenty of responsibilities, it is simply a fact of life: You worry. From time to time, you worry about health, about finances, about safety, about family, and about countless other concerns, some great and some small.

Where is the best place to take your worries? Take them to God. Take your troubles to Him; take your fears to Him; take your doubts to Him; take your weaknesses to Him; take your sorrows to Him … and leave them all there. Seek protection from the One who offers you eternal salvation; build your spiritual house upon the Rock that cannot be moved.

Don’t take tomorrow to bed with you. It is called Crazy Love and talks about how much the Lord loves us. It is an awesome book - a book that could truly change your relationship with Christ. I'm excited, too, because Rebekah Counts will be leading this study/discussion. The next group will meet October 6 @ 6:00 at Patty Ann's. Again, ladies, it's not about eating there, it's about the study/discussion. You do not have to order anything at all if you don't want to.....or you can have a sandwich, dinner, soup, dessert. We've shared some wonderful cheesecake and pies over the past weeks!!! (Over the lips, over the gums, look out hips - here it comes!!)

I would like to invite each of you ladies to join us. You will be blessed!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-41441939380899991152009-09-28T16:34:00.004-05:002009-09-28T16:37:43.283-05:00WOMEN'S BACK TO SCHOOL WEEKENDWell, girls, we sure did have fun this weekend. Congratulations to Laura for "winning" Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. We all looked so cute in our retro clothes!! It really doesn't seem like that long ago in some ways ---- and in other ways - wow!!!

Thank you to those who helped set up, greet, speak, do the game, clean up, .....and attended. Without you it wouldn't have been as good. I will have pictures on the site soon.

I would still like to do Feature Friday, but MANY of you never turned your information in. I will post Feature Friday as I receive information.

Hope you're having a great Monday!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304325422379466016.post-85468976809089355102009-09-09T17:00:00.002-05:002009-09-09T17:05:22.055-05:00Mark Your CalendarsIt's been on the calendar for awhile, but I just haven't gotten it all together. It's been a very rough beginning of the school year. Enough of that. Back to the calendar - mark it for September 25-26 - Back to School Weekend for Women. We're going to have lots of fun!!! I want each of you to dress as you did when you were in school - any grade. I would also like a school picture of you - again any grade. If you attended school in this area and have a yearbook, would you please bring it. We're going to be challenged with a game of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader!" It may have to be third, second or even first grader for some of us - but that's okay. We'll have fun no matter what level we do!! There will be refreshments and of course - a great time in the Word. We're going to be "Remembering!"

Talk this up - invite your friends and family - and get ready for a fun weekend with your Sisterz!Sister Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15330575289106542573noreply@blogger.com0
