NEW BOOK FOR DISCUSSION GROUP

I'm really excited about the new book we're going to be reading/discussing. It is called Crazy Love and talks about how much the Lord loves us. It is an awesome book - a book that could truly change your relationship with Christ. I'm excited, too, because Rebekah Counts will be leading this study/discussion. The next group will meet October 6 @ 6:00 at Patty Ann's. Again, ladies, it's not about eating there, it's about the study/discussion. You do not have to order anything at all if you don't want to.....or you can have a sandwich, dinner, soup, dessert. We've shared some wonderful cheesecake and pies over the past weeks!!! (Over the lips, over the gums, look out hips - here it comes!!)

I would like to invite each of you ladies to join us. You will be blessed!

WOMEN'S BACK TO SCHOOL WEEKEND

Well, girls, we sure did have fun this weekend. Congratulations to Laura for "winning" Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. We all looked so cute in our retro clothes!! It really doesn't seem like that long ago in some ways ---- and in other ways - wow!!!

Thank you to those who helped set up, greet, speak, do the game, clean up, .....and attended. Without you it wouldn't have been as good. I will have pictures on the site soon.

I would still like to do Feature Friday, but MANY of you never turned your information in. I will post Feature Friday as I receive information.

Hope you're having a great Monday!

Mark Your Calendars

It's been on the calendar for awhile, but I just haven't gotten it all together. It's been a very rough beginning of the school year. Enough of that. Back to the calendar - mark it for September 25-26 - Back to School Weekend for Women. We're going to have lots of fun!!! I want each of you to dress as you did when you were in school - any grade. I would also like a school picture of you - again any grade. If you attended school in this area and have a yearbook, would you please bring it. We're going to be challenged with a game of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader!" It may have to be third, second or even first grader for some of us - but that's okay. We'll have fun no matter what level we do!! There will be refreshments and of course - a great time in the Word. We're going to be "Remembering!"

Talk this up - invite your friends and family - and get ready for a fun weekend with your Sisterz!

Me Myself and Lies

Oh, it was so good to be with the gals from the discussion group last night. I could not attend last time due to Open House and I surely missed it! I missed the good food too! They had that wonderful homemade vegetable soup last night and I ate way too much! Slap a piece of crumbled corn bread in it and - ooh laaa laaa!!

There were so many good comments made last night. We spent a short time just testifying of God's goodness to us - reminding ourselves of who He is in our lives. It was very inspiring and uplifting.

We are coming to an end of this study and will begin a new one soon. Won't you consider joining us if you are not already coming? As I said before, you are under no obligation to buy a meal, etc. You can just order water if you want!!! ... or maybe you just want dessert. It's not about the meal. It's about what we're learning with and from one another as well as making a mutual place for others outside the church to join us. It's been wonderful!

Our next session is September 22 @ 6:00. Hope to see all of you there!!

HELLO

I am so sorry I have not posted - actually since the day school started! Does that explain anything? It has been a very difficult start this year. To complicate it, I got sick. I haven't done much of anything since then. I am feeling much better today and hope I am on the upswing.

I need your help. Many of you have not given me your "Feature Friday" information. I would really like all the ladies to know one another a little better. Would you mind taking the time to do this for me?? There are forms at the information center in case you've lost yours.

Hope you're enjoying this cooler weather! I'm not!!! My favorite weather is pool weather. I just simply hate to see the weather turn cool. I guess all good things must come to an end, though.

Don't forget about our new studies starting Wednesday night - Fighting the Enemy - And Winning! and Sharing Jesus Without Fear. I think both of these studies are going to be so beneficial. Isn't it great that we have this opportunity to be even better for the Lord.

See you girls tomorrow night. Hope you have a great rest of the week!

THE CENTIPEDE

The Talking Centipede

A single guy decided life would be more fun if he had a pet. So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion, he finally bought a talking centipede, (100-legged bug), which came in a little white box to use for his house. He took the box back home, found a good spot for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to church with him. So he asked the centipede in the box,"Would you like to go to churchwith me today? We will have a good time. "But there was no answer from his new pet.

This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked again, "How about going to church with me and receive blessings?" But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet.

So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. The guy decided to invite the centipede one last time. This time he put his face up against the centipede's house and shouted, "Hey, in there! Would you like to go to church with me and learn about God?"

This time, a little voice came out of the box, "I heard you the first time! I'm putting on my shoes!"
